KeoBTV is a set of components with which you will be able to
handle the Btrieve database by Delphi 4. The components allow a
native access to the database. Btrieve, as you know, is a
database which doesn't contain the description of the tables as
dBase or Paradox for instance. Usually DDF-Files are used to
store the descriptions. KeoBTV stores the description in an own
data dictionary to offer more conveniences. You can indirectly
import DDF descriptions. With the data dictionary you can build
your data description fast and clearly. KeoBTV consists of few
components and a set of mthods to access data. The components
are:
- KeoBTV - TBTVTable: Gives you acces to the database.
Here you define the connection to the desired table
- TBTVEdit: One Edit component for all field types
- TBTVScalar: Similar like a combo edit, but the values
are stored in the data dictionary
- TBTVSimpleGrid: Grid component
- TBTVNavigator: To navigate by clicking through data
- TBTVScrollBar: Additional to the grid component to acces
data by a scroll bar
Additional there exists a set of edit components depending
on the type of data like Integer, String, Float, Date and Time.
The have the same look and feel an behaviour as the TBTVEdit
component KeoEDIT

A complete application also needs the possibility to print
data. Because we didn't find a useful report generator we
created KeoPRINT. It is an unusual report printer! Very fast
and very versatile! KeoPRINT:
- One component on the form which defines size, name,
accessable fields, areas, main table of the report
- External report designer: The user can design his report
himself without compiling the application - Very complex
reports are possible you don't need 'sub reports'
- You have to program some pascal code but you can solve
nearly each problem A simple list needs only two lines of
code!
- Fast design of report by drag and drop of variables,
text, shapes and pictures
- Static and dynamic pictures
