Vendor's Description (from Readme files, web site, etc.):
The following are excepts from the vendor's
description.
- All the Features of Access are available to you through
this Components (e.g. DB User Administration, Data
encrytion, DB-Repair, DB-Compression, ...)
- This package includes enhanced versions of many of the
standard Data Control. For example, DB-Memo, DB-Image, and
DB-Mediaplayer recognize drag-and-dropped Files.
-

- These components were developed because the developer
needed a solution for a software they were developing for a
customer.
- These components support Master - Detail
dependencies.
- TDAOMediaPlayer and TDAOMediaPlayerScreen components
play Audio and Video directly from a Field in some Table of
the Database.
- Parameters for Stored Procs supported now (Property:
TDAORecordSet. StoredProcParameters - No Help so far)
- New Field Type TDAOCurrencyField. The standard Delphi
TCurrencyField interprets Access Currency Fields as Double
not as Currency.
- Design Dialogs usable at Runtime now (read: Design
Dialogs at runtime - Help Topic. Lookup Help Index for
this)
- AbsolutePosition and PercentPosition Properties
synchronize the Data aware Controls now.
- The TDAOSearchStrEdit has a new Property: SearchField.
Refer to Help File for more Information about the new
TDAOSearchStrEdit.
- Locate works for stored procs now.
- New Method in TDAORecordSet: RecomputeSQLParameter (Read
Help for SQLAutoComputeParameter Property)
- Passwords are now stored to the Resource File (*.dfm)
encrypted. If you have used Password in DAOWorkspace
Components you have to correct them once since they will be
decrypted from correct representation. I used an encryption
algorithm that should be save enough for this purpose.
- Values of Byte Fields are shown correctly now.
- Support of Stored Procedures. You can use selecting and
modifying stored procedures with GMDao now. But no
parameterized ones are supported too.
- TeeChart Editor Component included.
New Feature:The following features can be used directly
from the Delphi IDE now:
- Database Design Editor (Does not support Relations so
far)
- Table Design Editor
- Stored Procedure Design Editor
- Field Design Editor
- SQL Query Viewer with Data Export CapabilitiesQuick Data
Viewer with Data Export Capabilities
BDE Alternatives Guide Comments:
I have not examined the technical capabilities of these
components, which may be very good. The developer indicates
that he has removed all known bugs.
